Online Dating - The Race for Dates

In the dating world in general and online dating in particular, there are girls who take it one step too far and become serial daters. The blogger Roni studied the phenomenon closely and came back pessimistic.

So and so years ago it was customary for a girl to marry her first boyfriend from high school or from the army. The bold ones, who dragged the matter all the way to the university and managed (mercifully) to have several spouses go through, heard from everyone (with a stern face) that it was terrible and terrible and that "you won't find a decent groom from a good family".

Since then quite a few bras have been burned in Seneca Falls, women have been legitimized for single life and initiating relationships, and the nights of embroidering in front of the window, waiting for a loved one to come home, have been replaced by an obsessive obsession with online dating cards.

Something about the accessibility, immediacy and ease of dating through the Internet, along with the need to balance the inner desire to settle down and the social need to shout "I am a liberated woman!", found a perfect solution in dating. On the one hand, you met someone this week, and that's good enough to show the mother that you're serious and looking (and don't worry - she'll still get to see her grandchildren), and on the other hand, you'll check a few more before you finally decide who you want to settle down with.

But, as in everything, there are always those who take it a step too far: "the serial dieter". The serial dater holds a card on all the possible dating sites (because you never know where the prince will come from), is able to go out with someone every night (and the best ones sometimes even more than once a night), is convinced that she is serious and the guys are simply not suitable (men who tried this method went bankrupt after two weeks, because the serial dietitian is indeed a feminist - but you're supposed to pay for her), and becomes more and more picky as time goes on, because there is a huge supply and tomorrow she's scheduled with a new one anyway.

I once dated someone like that. One evening I was browsing a dating site and saw that she had an active card. When I asked, she replied that it was "just.. because I already paid and I have boyfriends from there", and I wondered what was scarier: that your partner has an active card on a dating site or that her social circle is concentrated there.

On the one hand, it's flattering to date a serial dater. After all, she has already become picky to such a degree that even Tom Cruise doesn't pass by her (too low) and Antonio Banderas is disqualified (because he lives far away), and if she goes on a few dates with you, there's probably something really worth getting to know about you. On the other hand, there is no way to develop something serious with someone who has already dated half of Tel Aviv, and whose view of a ``relationship'' is derived from how a first date should go (which is all she has experienced in recent years).

Unfortunately, the sad end of the serial diaries is divided between two options: the first (and the saddest) is to give up one day on the dating world, devote yourself to someone who happens to fall into the environment, and create another pair of beauties (resp.) and a short, hairy humanoid, that you are dying to understand how he did the This (the answer - he just stayed last). The second (and sadder) possibility is that she misses the train, is left with memories of how, once upon a time, she was a sought-after and coveted single, and is left alone with a look of disgust at the bald, rodent who dares to start with her when she forgets that she already looks almost the same…
